Lisa Hurley and her team at LH Design have been working in Canterbury homes for over 30 years. Lisa’s mission is to work with people to make their spaces not only beautiful but also functional. Lisa knows that good design is timeless and so she works together with her clients to produce results that will look good for years to come.
It’s a good idea to have an Interior Designer working alongside you to offer you a sounding board. At LH Design, we can be as detailed as the project requires. We pride ourselves on tuning in to what you and the project require and adapt the consulting role to suit.
WHAT WE DO
We are a team of four in the LH Design Studio, together we bring different skills to each project. Our interior designers, spatial designer and admin assistant have the ability to draw up concepts in 3D, source materials, document information and manage our work through to installation.
We start with a complementary meeting either in our studio, on site or in your own home to establish cost & timeframes.
After we’ve gathered the right information from you or any other trades/designers involved in the project we create a scope of works.
We get to crafting; we source materials, products and samples to present with our several design concepts.
We take feedback and work though the finer details for a well-rounded outcome. Then document this for you and all trades.
Following the project right through to completion is where we can make the process seamless for everyone involved.
Colour and design have always been a lifelong passion of Lisa’s. Between drawing, painting, renovating and landscaping, design is Lisa’s expertise. She spent several years living in Europe, learning, working and soaking up the culture. Lisa gained practical skills from experts by sewing curtains & soft furnishings. Lisa prides herself on thoughtful design principles and having appropriate information on hand.
Our lifestyles are forever changing from working, first home-owners to years of raising children and/or pets and then retirement, these all require different spaces to live and work in where intentional design is pivotal
By getting professional help to pinpoint the detail that matters to you, together we form a brief outlining your current lifestyle, with this information we can help you move forward and make decisions.

Ronald McDonald House South Island
LH Design are proud supporters of Ronald McDonald House South Island who provide free accommodation and support to families who must travel to Christchurch and Invercargill for their child’s medical treatment. Each year RMHSI provide a home-away-from-home for more than 1,200 families. By removing the stressors of everyday life, families can focus on what matters most – their child.
We continue to support RMHSI through their dinner programme and our design services for the new fit-outs in Christchurch (27 bedrooms) and Southland Hospital (4 bedrooms).
